Free term-time places ....

for 3 and 4 year olds at Sticky Mits

All three and four year-olds are entitled to a free term time nursery place through the Nursery Education Grant. The management team at Sticky Mits will do all the paperwork for you.

Your child is eligible to take up the place in the term following their third birthday. The part time place is for 15 hours per week. Some parents choose to use their allowance by using 5 hours on 3 days or 3 hours on 5 days. If you need more time for your child you will probably have to pay for it.

About one in ten of employers provide some kind of childcare help to employees - such as childcare allowances or vouchers, subsidised childcare services or simply childcare information. It is always worth asking to find out if your employer has plans to help with childcare.

Some employers are more likely to help. These include large organisations which rely on large numbers of women employees, like supermarkets, banks and public sector organisations like local authorities and NHS Trusts. Smaller organisations often help in informal ways as well, by being flexible about time, for example.

Help from your local authority

Some local authorities are able to subsidise some services so that they can offer lower price places to parents on low incomes or students. All local authorities must help families with childcare if a child is deemed 'in need' or disabled and families in these circumstances should be offered a choice of services free or at a price they can afford. Talk to your local Social Care Department if you feel your family is in crisis.

Childcare for Students

There is a range of funding available for students to assist with childcare costs, depending on the type of course you are doing and your circumstances.

2 Year Old Funding

The Government has just changed the rules about 2 yr old funding.  If your child meets their conditions you would be eligible to 15 hours of free childcare.

To apply for this funding you must contact your own Children’s Centre or Health Visitor. We will be happy to give you further details - just speak to a member of our management team.
